16 Nov How to Turn a PCR Windows 8 Tablet into a Complete Workstation
This week we added another docking station to our shop – the Universal USB 3.0 SV Docking Station. We love these Targus docking stations because they take the functionality of our tablets to a whole new level.
What is a docking station?
A docking station is a device that lets you turn any tablet into a desktop computer replacement. Eliminating the need for a bulky hard-drive unit in addition to your tablet. Your tablet becomes your desktop computer.
You just need a few things to make this happen:

- Docking station – Find one here or here
- Keyboard
- Mouse
- Monitor
- Speakers (if desired)
To set up your own workstation, you start with all of these elements, and plug them all into the docking station. This means that you have the ability to take your tablet out on the go with you, then when you return to your home or office, you just plug it back into the docking station, and immediately you have a full desktop PC station set up so you can work more efficiently and more safely.

The awesome thing about Windows tablets compared to some other tablet operating systems, is that the tablet runs just like a standard desktop computer. So while you still have the ability to download apps, books, movies and games to use on the go – you can also use your tablet for the same things you would use a computer for! Things such as word processing (using the Microsoft Word), spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), write emails, prepare presentations (Microsoft Power Point) and more.
We have designed these tablets to be as good as a PC – our 10” tablet has an incredible 128GB storage – as well as an SD card slot so you can add even more. The tablets have Windows 8.1 (can upgrade to Windows 10) and Office 365 pre-installed – so PC Revolution tablets truly are a whole PC packed into a Tablet.
If you are using your tablet for an extended period of time – especially if you are doing a lot of typing, it is far better for you to have your work station set up to look after your neck, back, shoulders and wrists.
